Android App Review: Galaxy Defenders

It’s always refreshing to pick up a game that you can jump right into and have a good time without any hassle or long load times. Galaxy Defenders by SixDead Entertainment is exactly that type of game. The developers say, “Galaxy Defenders is a retro space shooter about surviving from invading forces,” and that pretty much sums up the game in one sentence. Galaxy Defenders is a new twist on a classic video game genre that brings fun, easy to control game play to your Android phone or tablet.

The graphics are of a higher quality than other games that I’ve played in this genre and the action is fast and furious as you guide your ship through wave after wave of enemy ships and a constant barrage of asteroids. As you earn points you can choose to upgrade your ship and weaponry to help you get passed some of the tougher foes that you’ll face as you progress through the game. As expected, things can get pretty hairy out there as you get a few levels into the game. Galaxy Defenders will challenge the hell out of you.

In a nut shell, Galaxy Defenders is a fun, challenging, high-quality game that is a great way to pass the time whether you have a few minutes or a half hour. The simple touch-based controls are about as easy as they come and the graphics provide a nice backdrop to the inter-galactic firefight that is taking place. I’ve tested this game on both phone and tablet and while it looks good and plays great on both the experience of playing Galaxy Defenders on a larger screen is unbeatable.
